Sperlonga - a pastel-coloured jewel in Lazio's crown, resembling a minature Santorini, and Terracina - a Roman Byzantine treasure trove.
SAMPLE ITINERARY - All of our private beach trips require an early start so we generally pick you up at your accommodation at 7am - this allows us to travel comfortably before it gets too hot. The route is attractive once we are out of the city, breaking for a 'second breakfast'/refreshment stop, approximately midway between Rome and our destination.
This day trip allows you to visit two ancient centres of immense interest both overlooking the Tyrrhenean Sea - starting with a private guided walking tour of Terracina Antica with its original Roman town square (where you will be able to enjoy another coffee or fruit juice as you soak up the timeless atmosphere), view a section of the Appian Way and stroll around the top of Byzantine walls which encircle the old town. This will be followed by a private guided walking tour of Sperlonga old town where you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views before the short drive down to the private beach club.
For lunch we usually stay at the beach club, which has an intimate restaurant and a snack bar, allowing you longer to relax, sunbathe and swim until our departure time back to Rome, which is usually around 4.30pm.
A private guided visit of the Archaeological Museum at Sperlonga.
All of our beach trips can be further tailored.
NB* we don't run this tour at weekends.
This excursion requires a full day.
If you do suffer in the heat we would suggest you choose the Sabaudia & San Felice Circeo option.
*Just for Two*
This year we have decided to offer a special 'couples' rate, when there are just two adults on the day trip. Select "JUST4TWO SPERLONGA" from the menu on our contact page.
